Camlock locks have been fitted to a number of VARTA Microbattery CellPac BIKE batteries.
The batteries are lightweight, lithium-ion rechargeable cells fitted to pedelecs or ‘electric bikes’.
Camlock’s 3015 pushlock is used to secure the battery compartment. The six-disk tumbler lock has a push-to-lock action, a 45º locking movement and the double entry key is designed to be trapped in the unlocked position so that the key can't be lost while the battery compartment is open.
Alex Stapleton, product manager at VARTA, said: “When we first started the project, we were looking for a suitable lock from a supplier who could be a helpful and supporting partner. Camlock Systems was able to fulfil these needs.”
VARTA Microbattery GmbH manufactures retail and OEM batteries for automotive, computer, cell phones and medical equipment.
